Karl Kikas (1914–1992) from Valgjärv was a man who made the national instrument radio-famous. To commemorate his importance in the cultural history of the Teppo-type accordion, a sculpture of Karl Kikas in the downtown of Põlva was erected by Heino Tartes and the local accordion community.Donations were made to make the bronze statue and a big accordion concert was organised at the Estonian National Museum in Tartu.The bronze sculpture by Bruno Kadak and Ekke Väli was opened in Põlva on 20 July 2019.
